Corporate Volunteer Council
of Greater Tulsa
It Makes Good Business
Sense!
Corporate America places great
value on employee volunteer programs as a resource for
achieving strategic goals--and Tulsa-area businesses are no
different! Whether you want to build an in-house
volunteer program, or you already have an active employee
volunteer force, join the Corporate
Volunteer Council of Greater Tulsa (CVC), the 17th
corporate volunteer council organized in the United States
of America. CVC is a program of Volunteer
Central dedicated to
encouraging, educating
and connecting businesses that support employee volunteer
programs as a business strategy, benefiting the whole
community-area
volunteerism.
“Our nation will succeed or fail to the
degree that all
of us, citizens and businesses alike,
are active participants in building
strong, sustainable, and enriching communities.”
--Arnold Hiatt
Joining CVC is a smart investment in your
corporation or nonprofit organization’s development. CVC’s
mission is to promote and foster corporate volunteerism,
primarily through the sharing of ideas and information on
corporate volunteer programs and issues of community
concern which may be addressed through volunteerism.
CVC is the critical communications link among members and
the service organizations utilizing employees and employee
groups as volunteers.
More employees are beginning to see "volunteer work" as a
way to learn new skills or to move their careers forward.
Volunteering has become a sort of corporate benefit, with
companies offering time off for service projects,
volunteer work during company time or for
company-organized volunteer efforts. (Excerpts from
article by Vinnee Tong, Associated Press)
Businesses recognize that corporate
social responsibility and good corporate citizenship have
become deciding factors for many consumers in choosing and
buying a product. In the Millennium Poll on Corporate
Social Responsibility, 91% of Americans surveyed said
they would consider switching to a company involved in a
good cause.
